Reverand Paul Hobby

Reverend Paul Hobby and wife Lisa, with daughters Faith and Grace, look forward with great anticipation relocating to Tasmania and taking up ministry in the Parish of Quamby.

Reverend Paul’s appointment will commence in June 2022.

Paul was ordained deacon in 2017, priested in 2018 and completed a Bachelor Degree of Theology at Trinity college Melbourne in 2020.

Paul has worked in the diocese of Wangaratta, Victoria, fulfilling various roles including chaplaincy, youth and family’s ministry, priest assisting in the parishes of Wangaratta West and Warbys and the parish of Euroa.

Paul grew up on a working sheep and cattle farm near Alexandra where he developed a great love for the land, people, and animals. Paul previously studied and worked in forestry before the call to serve God in the Anglican church.

Reaching the farming community pastorally is personally important to Paul and it is his belief that the church has a critical role being Jesus hands and feet in rural communities, coming alongside one another in good times and bad.

With great excitement Paul together with family, are following God’s call to minister in Tasmania. The Hobby’s hope to enroll their daughters into the Hagley farm school and in their family recreational time discover and experience Tasmania’s stunning wilderness and charming towns.
